Evening Entertainment and Après

Regardless of which mountains you’ve been skiing, you’ll find all kinds of lively and cosy bars to loosen the boots and kick back. If you’re hungry, try some of the local raclette containing one of the many local cheeses (Reblochon and Beaufort to name a couple). For a more substantial meal, try the famous tartiflette, a delicious mix of potatoes, cheese, onion and lardons – the perfect ski grub!

When you’re ready, head back to the chalet and we’ll take it from there. Our hosts live in the valley all year round, so they’ll serve you some delicious food and drink and answer any questions you may have about going out for some drinks or planning your next day.

If you fancy it, Chamonix town is an amazing place to après. With dozens of bars and restaurants catering to all kinds of atmospheres - think live music, microbreweries, pizzerias, fine dining - there’s something for all kinds of skiers after a busy day in the snow. As always, just tell your hosts the kind of thing you're looking for and they’ll point you in the right direction.

About the Area

The Chamonix valley is home to nearly 70 ski lifts, meaning that you’d never have to do the same run twice (although we’re pretty sure some will be worth a second go). There’s cafes and restaurants nestled all over the mountains, so you’ll always find places to catch your breath or warm up with a vin chaud (mulled wine).

The five major resorts are spread from the low parts of the valley (Les Houches) through to the top (Le Tour), with the iconic Grands Montets housed between. There’s also the stunning Mer de Glace, a glacier on the northern slopes of Mont Blanc.

There’s both a train and an excellent bus service operating across the valley, meaning you’ll be able to get around with relative ease. Just ask your hosts for more information on the best routes for your journey.
