We arrived at Geneva airport on Thursday morning and were welcomed by a friendly transfer company who took us to Chamonix to meet our host for the week, Paul.
Paul was accommodating throughout the stay and went over and above to ensure we were fed, watered and got to our activities on time. The food was excellent morning, noon and night, we couldn’t have asked for a better host!
The chalet was in a beautiful quiet setting in Le Praz Chamonix Mont Blanc, the views were beautiful and a relaxing environment to come back to after a day of action on the mountain getting high, high, high and wet, wet, wet!
Friday morning, we started the day with Via Ferrata at Passy. Having a fear of heights this was my biggest accomplishment of the entire break. The guides were excellent and patient with me, encouraging me up the mountain every step of the way.
This was followed by a relaxing few hours at Les Thermes Mont Blanc, Saint Gervais les Bains, a thermal spa. After a morning of clenching every muscle in my body this was needed!
In the afternoon we went back into Passy to do Hydro-Speed down the river, it was great fun going through the rapids.
Waking up Saturday morning every muscle in my body ached so I took the decision to sit out of Canyoning but after hearing the rest of the groups experience, I am gutted I didn’t participate so will have to book back on to experience it. After a relaxing morning in Argentiere we went on an E-bike ride from Argentiere to Chamonix, it took me a while to get used to it, but it was great fun, I don’t think I want to cycle my bike again without any power!
Sunday morning, we went into Chamonix to do our Parapent flight. It was phenomenal and the views were breathtaking, I would highly recommend you do this! In the afternoon we went on to our last activity of our action-packed weekend, white water rafting. I’m not sure I’d do this again, it was the only activity I didn’t feel like I was in control, but I still enjoyed it and was a great end to the weekend.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mountain Action Holidays, the booking process through to delivery was exceptional and the passion from all the members of staff and guides. I will definitely be back soon!
