A PICTURESQUE VILLAGE AT THE HEAD OF THE VALLEY

Argentiere sits at a lofty altitude of 1252m, and is a short 4km up from Chamonix town itself. It’s also connected to Switzerland by road, through the commune of Vallorcine (also worth a visit). Argentiere is blessed with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, as well as one of the largest glaciers within the Mont Blanc massif.

PLENTY AT YOUR DOORSTEP

Whilst Argentiere is close enough to Chamonix for easy access by train, car or bus you’ll be surprised how much this charming little commune can squeeze in. There’s plenty of amazing bars and restaurants, as well as a handy supermarket and pharmacy. With the option to enjoy the wonderful ‘apres’ style bars and restaurants all year round, you’ll find many picturesque spots to sit back and take it all in.

HIKE, BIKE OR WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE!

There’s a wealth of choices when it comes to Argentiere and the great outdoors. Take a short walk (5-10 minutes) to the gondola up Grand Montet for sights that would rival anywhere.

There’s also fantastic bike trails for those looking for adrenaline in the form of downhill mountain biking. The trail down to Lanvancher (after exiting the Lognan cable car) is one of the best in the valley.

With easy access to a range of places across the Chamonix Valley, it’s also worth mentioning that there’s all sorts of activities beyond what we’ve mentioned here. White water rafting, canyoning and via ferrata are some of our favourites (don’t worry - there’s plenty more!). Learn more about these here.

We’re delighted to offer a wonderful chalet in Argentiere for the coming ski season and the summer beyond. Learn more about skiing with Mountain Action Holidays in Argentiere here.
