A Summer of Staycations with Mountain Action Holidays

It’s been a while since we’ve last shared any written updates about life at Mountain Action Holidays but with a whirlwind summer behind us we’ve finally had a chance to catch our breath and prepare for the next bout of autumn and winter adventures.

Today we thought we’d reflect on an amazing summer of activity holidays in the UK and how great it’s been to get back to adventuring, despite the world’s obstacles.

For the first time we welcomed keen adventurers to North Devon, for a summer of activity holidays the Mountain Action Holidays way. With so many amazing stories, photos and videos shared with us, we know our guests had as much fun as we did.

We also hope our guests enjoyed the stay in our stunning - and massive - accommodation. Don’t worry, we’ll be ready whenever you are for another adventure. We also would like to thank all of the wonderful guides for all of their hard work making sure we all had a safe and super time - without them our activity holidays couldn’t be possible.

Once again we’re so pleased we got to welcome so many to the wonderful shores of North Devon - it’s a place we love. For any guests reading this, we hope you did too!

Of course the South West wasn’t the only place we welcomed guests to adventure with us this summer; we also brought the Mountain Action Holiday buzz to the wonderful waters of Keswick (and the mountains surrounding it, of course!). Massive thank yous are in order for all that helped us deliver such an amazing time, with big compliments to the chef (bravo, Adam) for keeping our guests fed and fuelled up.

The Lake District offers even more than meets the eye, quite literally with activities like ‘climb the mine’, which proved hugely popular this summer. Kayaking, sailing and every other water activity you could imagine also really made a splash.

Activity holidays are always the best for taking your breath away, that’s certainly true for us!

So, what’s next? Like all good adventures, we’re always moving onwards. After catching our breath for a moment we’re now hosting adventures in Omis, Croatia - a perfect autumn getaway destination. After that we’ll be preparing to swap shorts for ski’s and welcome guests to our luxury chalets in Chamonix. However, we loved our summer in the Lake District so much that we’ve put together some fantastic options to keep the UK activity holidays going all year round!

Working with some local experts, we’re confident we can deliver an awesome winter break in the UK. Think hikes, bikes and cosy fireplaces - there’s always an adventure to be had.
