Bear Watching

The Loška Valley lies in the far south of Slovenia, surrounded by the vast forests of the Notranjska region — the largest continuous area of dense, uninhabited forest in Central Europe. This pristine wilderness provides an ideal habitat for many wildlife species and is located only an hour’s drive from Ljubljana.

Accompanied by experienced local guides, you will have the opportunity to safely observe the brown bear (Ursus arctos) in its natural forest environment.

In the early evening, we will meet at the Brown Bear Observation Information Center, where you will be introduced to the essential characteristics of the brown bear, its presence in Slovenia, and its importance in the everyday life of people living in the Loška Valley.
